• Russia sports minister ready to create new anti-doping agency

MOSCOW: Russia may consider creating a new anti-doping agency, the sports minister said Friday after a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) report alleged Russian athletism was plagued with state-sponsored doping. “If there are any questions or proposals for us from WADA, the International Association of Athletics Federations and the International Olympic Committee, or some roadmap proposals, we are ready to re-accredit the laboratory, or reform it, or create a new anti-doping organisation,” Russian sports minister Vitaly Mutko told R-Sport news agency.
