LEGAZPI CITY: Incumbent Albay Gov. Joey Salceda would be facing tough competition in the race for the province’s second congressional district in next year’s elections.
Lawyer Hardy Aquende, a Filipino-Chinese businessman and Harvard University graduate told The Manila Times that it could be a David and Goliath fight but he is ready under the Nationalist People’s Coalition.
Salceda earlier affirmed his intention to run in the second district of Albay.
Aside from Aquende, Rep. Christopher Co of Ako Bicol party list, a successful Filipino-Chinese businessman, earlier declared his bid to run against Salceda.
Salceda ran unopposed in the district of Albay and in his last bid for the gubernatorial post in the 2013 election.
