• Salceda to seek congressional seat under LP banner

LEGAZPI CITY: Gov. Joey Salceda of Albay announced on Sunday he will run as Liberal Party candidate for the 2nd congressional seat of Albay in next year’s elections. Salceda’s announcement came after enlisting his name on Friday as a voter in the nearby Daraga town in Albay in compliance with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) registration of voter guidelines for one to be a candidate. “I wanted it to be totally my own decision. So telling no one and first thing in the morning and without fanfare I registered as a voter of Daraga, Albay,” he said. In a statement he posted on his Facebook wall, he said he registered as a voter in Purok (sub-village) 5, Barangay Penafrancia where he has resided for over the past 8 years in order to effectively perform the task of governor of the province.
