The Red Lions and the Growling Tigers will be fielding two teams in two divisions during the triple-header day – in the 8 a.m. match and the 10 a.m. match.

SBC-Team A is currently No. 3 in the first division with a win, a draw and two losses while UST-Team A is No.5.

On the other hand, the reserve team of SBC is on top of the second division standings with a slim two-point lead over No. 2 University of the Philippines. UST-Team B is No.5.

After a steady start in their bid for redemption in the premier collegiate pre-season football tournament, the Mendiola-based squad absorbed two consecutive losses recently.

The Bedans started the tournament on a high note with a 4-0 rout of University of Batangas (UB) before eliciting a 2-2 draw from National University.

Consequently, San Beda suffered two straight defeats, first against University of the East, 2-1, and Lyceum of the Philippines University, 1-0.

Meanwhile, the Thomasians began their campaign in Ang Liga in an upbeat mood after escaping last year’s second division champs UB, 2-1.

UST standout Dexter Benecio sealed the win for the España booters with a strike in the 66th minute of the closely contested contest.

Completing the triple-header is the match between Ateneo de Manila University and Far Eastern University (FEU) at 1 p.m.

Ateneo, with a record of one win is keen to clinch the fourth spot while the struggling FEU with one draw and a defeat is yet to post a win.
