• San Carlos City to launch I4J Project

NEGROS OCCIDENTAL: San Carlos City will launch the Integrity for Jobs (I4J) partnerships with different agencies, businesses and civil society organizations – all aiming for good local governance. The launch follows after San Carlos City department and division heads partnered with the Office of the Ombudsman in the establishment of the Integrity Circle and the Technical Working Group whose members underwent seminars and workshops, the city Information Office revealed. I4J Focal Person of the city and OIC Office of Human Resource Management lawyer Ma. Chat Delima said that after an early mass at the cathedral, a motorcade followed, culminating in a program at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall. She added that text lines and a transparent box for suggestions and feedback were also provided to the public. The highlight of the event was the signing of Integrity Pledge between the government sector, civil sector organizations (CSOs) and the business sector. I4J is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development thru Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), a German political foundation which serve as the supervising and partner bodies for integrity in good local governance which comprises the local government units, the business sector and CSOs. The project aims at creating model LGUs of transparent, effective small business and investment registration and promotion procedures that will benefit citizens dependent on local services to eventually create more jobs, eliminate corruption and reduce poverty.
