• Sandigan allows Binay to go to US

The Sandiganbayan’s Third Division allowed former Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay Jr. to travel to the United States from August 15 to 24 to accompany his youngest daughter who is scheduled to have medical tests in Los Angeles.

Binay posted a cash travel bond of P608,000 which the court required.

The court also directed Binay to stick to his itinerary and to be in the country not later than August 24. He was also ordered to present proof that his daughter underwent a medical check-up upon his return.

Earlier, the court issued hold departure orders barring Binay and several others from leaving the country without its prior permission while the graft, malversation, and falsification charges filed against them are pending. Binay was charged in connection with the alleged anomalous bidding for the construction of the Makati City Hall Parking Building.

Probably go to U.S. to check on couple of buildings the family purchased to make sure there are no evidence against the family about those properties. Since the doctor that will examine his daughter is in Northern California, specifically, in San Francisco Bay Area, the Binay’s properties are probably in that area as well, and the neighboring buildings probably belonged to Arroyos’ and Pinedas’ in San Francisco.

If I were the government prosecutor prosecuting this case, I would have the DOJ coordinate with the U.S. Embassy to check on any bank accounts, investments, and every financial institutions in the U.S. and look for Binay, Limlingan, Baloloy, In-Laws, Cousins or close relatives of Junjun Binay. The timing of this trip would make me a little bit suspicious because the humongous amount of money involved, that the government is trying to trace. I would then turn on Trillanes and ask his help to employ his illegal methods in acquiring personal records that might help me to create strong evidence against this guy. Prosecutors should start thinking dirty, just like PDU30, thinking dirty in fighting drugs since day one.
