• Sandigan allows feverish Napoles to leave early

Alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles arrived on time at her bail hearing at the Sandiganbayan on Friday, but she left early because she was running a fever.

Napoles is facing non-bailable plunder charges with Senators Juan Ponce Enrile, Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Jose “Jinggoy” Ejercito Estrada before the Sandiganbayan’s Third Division.

Napoles’ lawyer Dennis Buenaventura asked that his client be excused from the proceedings because she had fever.

Presiding Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang order the court doctor to examine Napoles.

Her blood pressure at 140 over 80 and her body temperature was 37.73 degrees Centigrade.

Tang excused Napoles, who wore a light yellow blouse and dark glasses.

Napoles missed her bail hearing last Friday after arriving three-and-a-half hours late. She is detained in the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) female dormitory in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City.

She was transferred there from Fort Santo Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna after the Third Division ruled that Fort Santo Domingo is not under the BJMP.
