The Sandiganbayan has allowed Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. to undergo therapy for his painful back and to have his feet checked.
Revilla is detained in the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame over a P224-million plunder case in connection with the pork barrel scam.
“After deliberating on the matter, the Court resolves to grant the motion for humanitarian considerations. As prayed for, accused Revilla is hereby authorized to leave his detention cell and be brought to the PNP Hospital at Camp Crame three times a week for a total of six sessions not to exceed one hour per session,” the court said in a minute resolution.
The court directed the PNP to provide security for Revilla and to report to the court, within five days after the last session, the dates and time when the sessions took place.
On March 9, the court gave Revilla permission to have his feet x-rayed after he complained of “intense pain” on both heels.
The ruling was signed by First Division Chairman Efren Dela Cruz and Associate Justices Rafael Lagos and Rodolfo Ponferrada.
