The Sandiganbayan 5th Division on Monday released the warrant of arrests against Senator Jinggoy Estrada and 11 other co-respondents in the Php10 billion “pork barrel” scam minutes after the court found probable cause on all cases slapped against them.
The 5th division chaired by Associate Justice Roland Jurado signed the warrant. Estrada is facing plunder and graft cases together with Janet Lim Napoles; Pauleen Labayen, Estrada’s staff; and Mario Relampagos, undersecretary of the Department of Budget and Management.
Other accused of graft were Rosario Nunez, Lalaine Paule, Marilou Bare, Allan Javellana, Rhodora Mendoza, Maria Julie Johnson, Victor Cacal, Maria Nunez Guanizo and Romulo Relevo.
The lawmaker is accused of pocketing Php183 million in pork barrel scam kickbacks after allegedly channeling his Priority Development Assistance Funds to bogus non-government organizations of Janet Lim Napoles.
This is the second time that Estrada has been ordered arrested for the crime of plunder. His first was in 2001 when he was accused of the same crime under the Arroyo administration. PNA
