• ‘Santi’ speeds up as it crosses E. Luzon

Tropical Depression Santi accelerated as it crossed Eastern Luzon, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather forecaster Bobby Javier said on Thursday.

Santi was recorded at 490 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora province with maximum winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of 120 kph, said Javier. It will also affect eastern provinces of Luzon including Central Luzon.

Meanwhile, Pagasa raised Public Storm signal no. 1 in the provinces of Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon including Polilio Islands and Camarines Norte. Residents are warned against possible flash floods and landslides.

Rains and thunderstorms will hit Luzon provinces including Metro Manila. Catanduanes, Camarines Province, Isabela, Aurora and Quezon including Polilio islands will have rains with gusty winds over the next few days. Seas on the areas will be rough.

Santi will be out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Monday if the storm track will continue to speed up, said Javier.
