Has Sarah Geronimo found love in Matteo Guidicelli?
Rumors began a few weeks ago after photos of Sarah and Matteo were posted online showing them extra-sweet to each other during a show in the US. A video was also uploaded from their performance in San Diego, California for the third leg of Sarah’s 24/SG US Concert Tour.
While there is certainly nothing new about two celebrities falling in love, what makes this potential pairing quite interesting is that Matteo’s ex girlfriend Maja Salvador and Gerald Anderson, who was rumored to be courting Sarah a few months back, are now a couple.
Matteo had also previously hinted about his interest in Sarah and it seems that the young actor has gotten more serious about pursuing the Pop Princess after his failed “relationship” with Jessy Mendiola.
The Voice of the Philippines coach, however, kept mum on the issue when reporters interviewed her after her mini-concert for Jollibee’s “Best Family Bonding Date with Sarah G” at Trinoma Mall, Sunday afternoon.
Sarah described her heart as “OK” and payapa (at peace), and safely described Matteo as “endearing.”
“Matteo is a very endearing person, lovable. Nakasama namin siya sa tour and lahat kami natuwa sa kanya. Unexpected na magiging ganoon kasaya yung tour at nagkaroon kami ng mga bonding moments para mas makilala ang bawat isa.”
Is Matteo courting her? “Parang wala pa sa tamang panahon para magkaroon ng ligawan,” she answered. Sarah added she doesn’t feel quite ready for another relationship just yet, “Huwag muna. Pero sana . . . ayoko naman po tumanda mag isa,” she said with a smile.
Breaking records, new talents
Sarah again expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported It Takes a Man and a Woman, her most recent movie with John Lloyd Cruz, which was recently recognized as the highest-grossing Filipino film of all-time.
With the success of the movie, however, Sarah admits being hesitant to do another sequel because of the high expectations. “Mahirap na kasing sundan ang It takes A Man And A Woman, natatakot ako. Napagusapan na din po namin ni John Lloyd na gagawin lang namin ulit kung may mas magandang material pero kung wala it’s best to end it there.”
In the meantime, Sarah is taking a break from acting to focus on the reality signing competition The Voice of the Philippines. She joins Lea Salonga, Bamboo and Apl. de.ap. as the show’s judges/mentors.
“Being a judge is very challenging—mahirap, pero alam kong marami akong matutuhan dito, maggu-grow ako dito. Masarap sa pakiramdam na makakatulong ka na matupad naman ang pangarap ng ibang tao.”
“The Best Family Bonding Date with Sarah G” series gave Sarah a chance to sing a special duet with her daddy Delfin.
“Even though this is not our first time to sing together, masaya yung pakiramdam na maririnig mo yung boses mo kasabay ng boses ng tatay mo,” she said.
Sarah added she is also thankful that her parents have given her more freedom, “Unti unti nagiging OK ang lahat, mas nagiging maluwag and lenient sila sa akin.”
