Much to the delight of fans at singer-actor Matteo Guidicelli’s 10th anniversary concert in his hometown Cebu, his superstar girlfriend Sarah Geronimo was in the front row of the sold-out show from start to finish.
Dubbed “#MatteoMadeinCebu,” the special show was held at the Waterfront Cebu Hotel in Lahug on November 18, and saw the handsome crooner truly inspired.
Besides showcasing the different kinds genres he can render, Guidicelli’s three-hour show was made possible by what he calls his “dream team,” composed of director Rowell Santiago, and musical director Louie Ocampo.
The “Ipapadama Na Lang” pulled one surprise after another on stage, including a duet each with his favorite singers Randy Santiago and Rico J. Puno via split screen performances.
He impressed the crowd too by singing songs in different languages, a talent he had never showcased before.
In honor of his most recent teleserye role as Gian Carlo in Dolce Amore, Matteo also sang its theme song “Your Love,” and a couple of modern hits like “Cake By” the Ocean” and “Secret Love Song,” among others diverse sounds.
He particularly soared during his duets with his special guests for the night. He first proved that his Bisaya-speaking skills were spot on via “Hahaha Hasula,” which he performed together with its original singer and fellow Cebuano Kurt Fick.
His balladeer side came all the more too when he sung“Wag Ka Nang Umiyak” with KZ Tandigan. Fans were especially thrilled when he changed part of the lyrics to “Hindi ko siya pababayaan” glancing at his special guest on the front row.
And to be sure, his duet with Concert King Martin Nievera brought the house down when he sang the OPM icon’s hit “Say That You Love Me” in Italian.
On his own onstage as the night went on, the ever-romantic celebrity dedicated a few more love songs to Geronimo, and adorably to his grandmother who was also in the crowd.
Bringing on the fun, the hunky then actor teased the crowd with a Ricky Martin medley complete with Sinulog dancers behind him. He delightfully showed off his chiseled arms and abs wearing an unbuttoned denim vest.
Guidicelli concluded his anniversary party with a Maroon 5 medley where he thanked his fellow Cebuanos for their support. As a way to give back for the decade’s worth of blessings he received in showbiz, the singer-actor mounted the concert for the benefit of the Kythe Foundation.
