The royal family of Saudi Arabia has lauded President Benigno Aquino 3rd for his achievements during the last six years.
A congratulatory message was extended by Saudi Arabia’s Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud during a courtesy call on President Aquino in Malacañang on Monday afternoon.
“According to [Foreign Affairs] Secretary [Jose] Almendras, HRH [His Royal Highness] Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud congratulated President Aquino for the country’s pace-setting economic growth achieved during the past six years,” Presidential Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said in a statement.
“He [Alwaleed] also expressed admiration for the significant improvement in per capita income, the palpable transformation of the country’s physical infrastructure as well as the Filipinos’ enhanced sense of pride,” he added.
The President thanked the Prince for Saudi Arabia’s “continuing friendship and support for the country’s economic development,” Coloma said.
Prince Alwaleed is the grandson of King Abdulaziz Alsaud, founder and first ruler of Saudi Arabia.
He is known as a business magnate and ranked as the 41st richest man in the world in March 2016 by Forbes. He has an estimated net worth of $17.3 billion.
The Prince was once referred to by Time as the Warren Buffett of the Middle East.
