Golf has always been a favorite sport among Filipinos, and tournaments are often staged to show their passion and dedication for the game.

On June 4, Sayaw Foundation, led by its founder, Consul Helen Ong, and president Vicky Magadia, organized the First President’s Cup Golf Fellowship and Fundraising (system of 36 scoring) at the Villamor Air Base Golf Course in Pasay City.

Sponsors of the event were Sen. Cynthia Villar, Metro Combined Logistics Solutions Inc., Prudential Life Insurance Inc., Petron, and more.

Consul Ong was truly grateful to all who helped made the tournament a success. Congratulations to the winners!

Meanwhile, it was fairy tale come true for 24 charming tots and teens during the coronation day of Little Miss Solane 2014. Organized to develop the potentials and talents of our young ones, the one-of-a-kind pageant, was held at the SMX Convention Center in SM Aura Premier, Taguig City.

No less than Isla Petroleum and Gas Chief Executive Officer Shoichi Watanabe and Isla LPG Corp. Chief Executive Officer Ramon del Rosario welcomed the contestants and guests.

The competition also took pride in its panel of judges composed of Solane promotions and research manager Valerimae Batenga, Solane product and brand manager Ernest Loquinario, Solane Mother of the Year 2013 Jessie Lou Lucero, Mrs. Philippines-Globe 2013 2nd runner up Rachel Ann Felix, Mrs. Philippines-Globe 2013 Woman of Substance Rizza Singson, theatre actor and singer Al Gatmaitan and former beauty queen and model Patty Betita.

The little contestants wowed the judges in their national costumes, sportswear and party wear, all in line with the pageant’s theme of Candyland.

Emerging as winner were Cebuana girls, Marydee Manayaga and Duchess Blythe Uybengkee who were crowned as Little Miss Solane Cuties and Teenies respectively.

Little Miss Solane Cuties 2013 Caryl Codina and Little Miss Solane Teenies 2013 Gabbi Lopez happily passed their crowns to the new winners. Caryl shared that travelling around the country was her memorable part of being a Little Miss Solane, while Gabbi was grateful that the pageant helped her to be confident, eventually taking a spot in the GMA Artist Center as one of its talents.

Truly, this pageant brought out the best in these girls and opened up a candyland of opportunities. Congratulations to all the little cuties and teenies!
