Sayyaf man captured in Sulu


ZAMBOANGA CITY: Army soldiers captured an Abu Sayyaf bandit in continuing operations in Sulu against the terrorist group tied to the Islamic State. It said soldiers from the 14th Infantry Battalion nabbed Pauji Asgari in Talipao town on Tuesday after villagers tipped off the military on the presence of Abu Sayyaf fighters in the area. Troops seized Asgari’s assault rifle, ammunition and electric cords, including a Marine camouflage, cell phone and motorcycle, Brig. Gen. Arnel dela Vega, commander of anti-terror Joint Task Force Sulu, said.
