Sayyaf sued for kidnapping Germans


THE Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group on Thursday filed before the Department of Justice kidnapping-for-ranson and serious illegal detention charges against some members of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) who were behind the kidnapping of German yachters Victor Okonek and Henrike Dielen. The two Germans, who were seized while on a yacht off the waters off Bataraza Island in Palawan on April 26, were released on October 17. In a statement, Senior Supt. Roberto Fajardo identified the ASG members as Abu Rami alias Amir, Mundi Sawadjaan alias Mon, Mudjapar Sawadjaan alias Longhair, Yusop Jalmaan alias Job, Roger Saji and Abu Jannah as Jibang.
