SUBIC BAY FREEPORT: Amid rumors flying thick that Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairman Martin Diño is on the way out, his daughter and chief of staff on Wednesday strongly denied this, saying there is no truth to such thing and her father is staying put as head of the agency.
Maybelle Diño, in an exclusive interview with The Manila Times, said her father is not resigning nor was being asked by Malacañang to resign as SBMA chairman.
“We’ve heard about all these rumors that he was being transferred and offered a position as Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) undersecretary but there is no truth to that, Diño’s daughter said.
She added the rumors floating around especially on social media is but part of an ongoing demolition job against her father because of his campaign to go after corrupt officials in Subic.
Diño added that her father is looking forward to the next congressional hearing on the leadership dispute in Subic scheduled on August 2 when House leaders will make their recommendation.
The SBMA chairman left for an official trip to China on Monday and was expected back in Subic by Wednesday night.
