THE Supreme Court has upheld its own decision imposing six to 13 years imprisonment against three persons for unlawful possession of lumber in 1993 in Nueva Ecija. The High Court stood pat in its March 12, 2013 verdict sentencing Efren Almuete, Johnny Ila and Joel Lloren for violating Presidential Decree No. 705 (Forestry Code) but their penalty was fixed for qualified theft or Article 310 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC).
