The Supreme Court on Thursday was asked by the PDP Laban, the political party of President Rodrigo Duterte, to void the Commission on Elections (Comelec) resolution extending the deadline for the filing of the Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) for the May 2016 polls.
In a 25-page petition for certiorari, the PDP-Laban, represented by incoming Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez and lawyer George Erwin Garcia, accused the Comelec of grave abuse of discretion by granting the extension to the Liberal Party.
