SC junks raps vs. Iloilo school principal

THE Supreme Court (SC) has exonerated a public school principal who was charged before the Office of the Ombudsman for allegedly withholding the salary of a teacher in 2002. In a ruling, the SC upheld the decision of the Court of Appeals which reversed and set aside the June 30, 2005 consolidated decision of the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas and absolved respondent Cynthia Caberoy from any administrative liability. Caberoy, principal of Ramon Avanceña National High School in Arevalo, Iloilo City, was charged with Oppression and Violation of Section 3(e) and (f) of Republic Act No. 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act by school teacher Angeles Tuares for allegedly withholding her salary for the month of June 2002.
