The Supreme Court(SC) has dismissed with finality the plea filed by a disqualified party-list group that was not allowed to run during the May 13, 2013 party-list elections.

In an en banc decision, the SC denied the motion for reconsideration filed by 1Para sa Bayan pertaining to the petition for review it filed assailing the Commission on Elections ruling.

“Acting on the motion for reconsideration (of the resolution dated June 10, 2013), dated July 17, 2013 filed by counsel for petitioner, the Court resolved to deny with finality the said [MR],” the SC ruling said.

In the decision signed by Clerk of Court Atty. Enriqueta E. Vidal, the SC said there were “no substantial arguments…presented to warrant the reversal of the questioned resolution.”

The SC earlier remanded to the Comelec the case of some party-list candidates for determination if they can be accredited based on the new guidelines for party-list elections. PNA
