The Supreme Court (SC) has rejected the implementation of the four-day work week scheme in the judiciary.
In a notice of resolution dated Oct. 14, 2014 signed by Clerk of Court Atty. Enriquetta E. Vidal and released on Monday, the SC resolved to dismiss the implementation of the four-day work week scheme based on the recommendation of the Office of Administrative Services in the SC En Banc.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) earlier issued a resolution dated Sept. 8, 2014 in connection with the implementation of a four-day work week scheme in some agencies of government in the National Capital Region.
The said scheme was aimed at mitigating the effects of heavy traffic in major thoroughfares in Metro Manila.
However, according to the CSC, the implementation of the said scheme will be on a “voluntary basis” wherein the government agencies in Metro Manila will be allowed to operate from Tuesday to Friday or from Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. PNA
