SC set to issue ruling on Cybercrime law

THE Supreme Court (SC) is expected to issue a decision on the constitutionality of the Cybercrime law or Republic Act 10175 today.

Justices of the High Court are set to continue voting on various provisions of the law being questioned by several groups.

A source of The Manila Times earlier said the tribunal is inclined to take down Section 19 of the Cybercrime law which allows the Department of Justice to shut down websites that contain harmful content based merely prima facie evidence and without court order.

At least 15 petitions were filed at the High Court assailing the constitutionality of the law.
