• SC stops Marcos burial at heroes’ cemetery

The Supreme Court on Tuesday stopped the proposed burial of former President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

Unimpeachable sources told The Manila Times that magistrates of the high court, during deliberations on Monday, decided to issue a Status Quo Ante Order in reply to the petitions asking the tribunal to stop the burial of Marcos at the Heroes’ Cemetery.

The status quo order will last for 20 days.

The order means that the parties involved have to maintain the status quo, thus cannot act until the high court issues a ruling on the case.

The tribunal has reset the oral arguments scheduled on Wednesday on August 30, 2016.

There are four petitions filed before the SC against the plan to bury Marcos at the cemetery. JOMAR CANLAS

    1. So, there’s still hope that this hero’s burial may not happen. There’s a lot of things that could happen in 20 days. I will just keep my fingers crossed.

I commend the Supreme Court for entertaining those petitions to stop Der Fuhrer Rodrigo Duterte from going ahead and agreeing to have Marcos’s remains interred at the LIBINGAN NG MGA BAYANI, and issuing a STATUS QUO ANTE order.

Mr. Duterte has to respect and obey that Order of the Supreme Court.

In the final anaysis, I am sure the Supreme Court will in the end decided, unanimously probably, to rule that former President Ferdinand E. Marcos has no right to be buried among real HEROES.

    3. The supreme court has no business in making a decision on the case of Mr. Marcos, Sr. burial at LNMB. The petition(s) to disbar Mr. Marcos from being buried in LNMB is purely vindictiveness and arrogance of the people who claimed they were victims of Martial Law. Their grievances could have a merit had they not provoked Mr. Marcos to use an iron hand to those left-leaning, loud-mouth students from different universities, various segments of communists and disgruntled oligarchs who enjoyed creating civil disturbance, destruction of public and private properties, and dividing the nation by their rhetorical condemnation of Martial Law. The SC decision is more political, as I can see it, and to appease those people who up to now has not learned to forgive, although they claim they are Catholics and mostly everyday they recite the Lord’s Prayer of” Our Father in Heaven…….forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespasses against us”. What a joke, because they claim they love God yet clearly they don’t follow one of his important commandments- ” Love thy neighbors as thy self”. The burial plot where Mr. Marcos is to be buried is not owned by anybody. It is owned by God and therefore, it is He alone can say to each and everyone of us ” You don.t belong here “. The LNMB cemetery is man-made, nothing is holy there. In the eyes of the Father in Heaven, we are all the same , sinners and imperfect. What is important and we should be concerned about is the judgement to each of everyone of us when we face Him. Mr. Marcos had his judgement already from God. Kaya tumahimik na lang tayo.
