The Supreme Court on Tuesday stopped the Commission on Electionsfrom implementing its order disallowing voters without biometrics to vote.
Acording to a reliable aource of The Manila Times, the justices decided to issue a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the commission.
Today is the regular en banc session of the high court.
A youth partylist group petitioned the tribunal to declare as illegal and unconstitutional the poll body’s order that only voters with biometrics can cast their votes next year.
The Kabataan partylist group filed a petition for certiorari and prohibition assailing the “No Bio, No Boto” policy which it claimed will disenfranchise millions of voters.
