Magistrates and employees of the Supreme Court (SC) will hail former Chief Justice Renato Corona one last time when his remains are brought to the halls of the tribunal in Padre Faura in Manila, according to Corona’s son Francis.
Corona’s body is expected to arrive at the SC grounds from the Heritage Park in Taguig City (Metro Manila) at 7 a.m. on Thursday.
The late Chief Justice will be given arrival honors and will lie in state at the SC En Banc Session Hall.
To pay their last respects to Corona, the SC en banc will hold its necrological service at 11 a.m. where Corona’s former colleagues are expected to give their final tribute.
In the afternoon, another necrological service sponsored by the Philippine Judges Association will be held. A vigil will take place on Thursday night until Friday.
The remains of the former Chief Justice will be brought back to Heritage Park at 7 a.m., Friday, for the interment.
Corona passed away at the age of 67 after succumbing to cardiac arrest at the Medical City Hospital in Pasig City (Metro Manila) at 1:48 a.m. on Friday.
