SEVERAL schools in Metro Manila suspended their respective classes on Tuesday after the Philippine Atmospheric and Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that heavy rains brought by Tropical Cyclone Emong are expected to shower the metro.

Private and public schools in San Juan City and Manila started canceling their classes after receiving directive from their respective mayors.  Also, Mayor Alfredo Lim of Manila allowed the city hall employees to leave work early except employees working under the flood control and traffic management division.
