The enormous number of devotees who attended the Mass at the Rizal Park in Manila on Sunday stunned Pope Francis, according to Manila Archbishop Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle.

“I can not fathom the faith of the simple people,” Tagle quoted the Pope as saying after the mass was over.

Tagle acted as the pontiff’s chaperone throughout the trip.

People who attended the Mass exuded excitement, love and respect.

Pope Francis drew a record six million people in the rain-swept Philippines capital, delivering a powerful message for the poor to a rapturous audience in a triumphant finale to an Asian tour.

“The Philippines is the foremost Catholic country in Asia. This is itself a special gift of God, a blessing,” the pontiff told the vast crowd.

“But it is also a vocation. Filipinos are called to be outstanding missionaries of the faith in Asia.” AFP

    1. How I wish all Filipinos will join hand in hand for a ” CHANGE” after the Pope visit. This Pope’s visit & what we showed him will be in futile if we will not reciprocate with change. I hope it will not just be shows & lip service or other records we are after to but a change for a better individual, family, community & as a country. Mabuhay si Pope Francis, Mabuhay ang Filipino & Mabuhay ang Pilipinas

    2. I hope Pontifical Pope Francis’s visit and words of wisdom (mind, heart and actions) exudes to the corrupt and crooks and live like He wants Filipinos to. Philippines is very rich in resources. These resources when develop can more than fully sustain a good livelihood of the people; as long as politicians and people in position do their jobs with integrity and honesty. Hopefully someday the country will not be on the top ten of the most corrupt country in the world.
