DIGITALLY savvy Filipino entrepreneurs are in for a real treat with the launching of the first ever Bozz Awards.
Organized by Smart Enterprise and PLDT SME Nation in cooperation with Rappler, the Bozz Awards is a social media crowd-sourcing search for the new generation of entrepreneurs who use digital platforms for their businesses.
“For years now, PLDT SME Nation has been known for our MVP Bossing Awards which celebrate Filipino business titans whose stories of success embody perseverance and continuous innovation. They are the industry icons start-up entrepreneurs look up to,” Kat Luna-Abelarde, PLDT first vice president and head of SME Business, explained at the awards launch on August 5 at The Brewery at The Palace, Bonifacio Global City Taguig.
Abelarde continued, “The Bozz Awards is all about the new breed of entrepreneurs, who are just as persevering and innovative, albeit faced with a different set of challenges and opportunities in this digital age of doing business.”
Rappler will be hosting the primary website for the Bozz Awards which can be found at rappler.com/betheboss. Nomination began on August 10.
The awards has different categories namely: The Boss for Mobile Readiness, The Boss for E-Commerce, The Boss for Social Media, The Boss for Customer Service, and The Boss for Social Responsibility and Entrepreneurship.
To qualify for the Bozz Awards, entrepreneurs must be 45 years old and below, based in the Philippines, and has been operating his business for at least two years.
Nominations can also be done using Twitter with the hashtag #BeTheBoss, and the public can cast their own votes to help in deciding the final five Bozz Awardees.
The first batch of awardees will receive Smart Enterprise Biz Kits that include mobile phone, laptop and a tablet, plus a year-long data subscription from the network provider.
Moreover, the final five will have a chance to join a Silicon Valley tour in the US care of PLDT SME Nation.
