Investigators handling the case said they already recovered the Toyota Fortuner (PRI-744) which the victim along with a certain Darlene Francisco were riding before they disappeared.

The vehicle was found abandoned the following day along Maharlika Highway in Barangay Napolidan, Lupi at the adjacent province of Camarines Sur , but its occupants were missing.

In a radio interview, Gov. Tallado refused to categorically state that his missing wife could be a victim of an abduction noting that an investigation is still ongoing.

“I will only issue an statement after the police have concluded their investigation” Tallado was quoted as saying.

PO1 Michael C. Lubiano , a cop assigned at Vinzons police station said that prior to their disappearance, he was advised by the governor’s wife at around 3 pm last Friday to wait for them as they will visit an unidentified friend in Barangay 3 in the said town.

He added that Ms. Tallado even told him that they would be back at around 7 pm of the same day.

However, when the appointed time came and passed but they failed to show up, he got worried and tried to call Francisco’s number but his repeated calls went unanswered.

It was already around 9 am the following day when the police reported that the vehicle was found abandoned along Maharlika Highway in Camarines Sur.

The case of the missing governor’s wife has baffled the police as they are still gathering enough evidence and testimonies from possible witnesses to definitely determine the real reason behind her disappearance.
