Philippine National Police contingents tasked to secure Pope Francis started to position themselves along the Domestic Road in Pasay City Thursday morning.
This is one of the roads the papal convoy will pass while enroute to the Apostolic Nunciature in Malate, Manila where the Pontiff is expected to spend the night of Jan. 15.
The police contingent arrived by buses around 9 a.m.
Pope Francis and his entourage is expected to arrive at Villamor Air Base, Pasay City around 5:45 p.m. via a Sri Lankan airlines flight from Colombo.
Around 25,000 police officers and 17,000 soldiers were deployed to secure Pope Francis’ four-day visit to the Philippines. PNA
