Mitsubishi PH starts accepting orders for the Mirage G4
MITSUBISHI Motors Phils. Corp. (MMPC) last week revealed the all-new Mitsubishi Mirage G4, the sedan version of the Mirage hatchback, during a special preview event held in not just one but in three dealerships in Metro Manila—Citimotors in Makati, Diamond Motors in Quezon Avenue and Peak Motors in Manila Bay.
The dealerships have started accepting pre-booking orders for the latest member of the MMPC roster, which will be available in mid-October.
MMPC Vice President for Marketing Services Froilan Dytianquin said that the difference between the two Mirages is that the soon-to-be-available G4 is marginally longer than the hatchback, which was named 2012-2013 Car of the Year – Philippines. He added that the sedan has the same 1.2-liter, three-cylinder Mivec engine as that on the hatchback, and that the sedan—because of its different configuration—offers better legroom for drivers and passengers.
Dytianquin said MMPC is eyeing to sell during the pre-ordering period (September 2 to October 16) some 3,000 Mirage G4s, noting that the car is “targeting a different market from its hatchback sibling.”
“This new one is meant for the yuppies while the hatch is for the youth,” he said.
The MMPC executive said that the Mirage G4 carries a P40,000 discount from its its suggested retail prices, which start at P578,000 for the base variant and top at P718,000 for the GLS CVT. Dytianquin also stressed that the current subcompact segment will definitely get a healthy competition with the arrival of the Mirage G4.
