Seduction rap filed vs. Freddie Aguilar

Multi-awarded folk singer Freddie Aguilar was slapped with charges of qualified seduction before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office for his controversial romantic relationship with a minor.

Lawyer Fernando Perito said he was outraged, offended, and scandalized by Aguilar’s public declarations of love for his 16-year-old fiancée.

“This cradle snatcher wants to take advantage of the adulation of the child by pretending to be loving her and allegedly marrying her later. He is lusting [after the girl],” Perito said, referring to photos of Aguilar and the girl’s intimate moments, allegedly distributed by the singer himself.

The lawmaker also decried Aguilar’s defense of assuming the girl was of age because of her height.

“[Aguilar] has authority and moral influence over the child because of his popularity,” he said.

“If the parents consented, they should be held criminally liable,” he added.
