Sef Cadayona trusted with judging responsibility

If you were barely five years in showbiz, would you relish the idea of sitting as judge in a comedy reality show that aims to pick the best of the best in the field of comedy? Add to this the fact that you are sharing the judging chores with two comedy veterans and that is some pressure indeed.

Former Starstruck contender Sef Cadayona found himself in this predicament after GMA 7 gave him the job as a jury member in the new comedy show titled Laff Camera Action, which makes its debut on the boob tube today.

Cadayona is thankful for the trust that Kapuso network is giving him in being part of the new comedy reality program. While he may be young, he says he represents the view of the televiewers with regards young comedians on television.

“That is how I am going to judge them—through the entertainment that they give me as a viewer,” said the two-time awardee as best comedy actor. “I am very grateful to GMA since after Juan Tamad they gave me this show and another one, a sitcom is also coming.”

He is also glad that GMA 7 saw his potential in comedy. Even as a newcomer when still with Starstruck, Cadayona already expressed intention to carve his career in comedy. So when the offer came to sit as jury member of Laff Camera Action, he expressed elation but with a bit of hesitation.

“Since the show aims to make the people laugh, my job as a jury is to boost the confidence of the contestants if they did well in their comedy act. It is a tough job but I hope to do good in it,” he added.

He is back in the cast of Vampire ang Daddy Ko but the sitcom that top bills Vic Sotto is ending its run soon, so Cadayona hopes a new show comes his way. But he was glad in being given a chance to act alongside the talented TV host and comedian.

Jay Daniel Chuong, the Philippine representative to the Mr. Golden Universe tilt to be held in Brazil on May 29, has vowed to give his best. He said he prepared well for the contest as he wants to lift up the spirits of the Filipinos.

Chuong believes his advocacy about nature (he is a mountaineer) can work to his advantage. Even before joining the competition which selected him for the Mr. Golden Universe tilt, Chuong has been pushing his advocacy on nature. Since the Mr. Golden Universe is not just the usual contest, he believes pushing for his agenda on taking care of Mother Earth is a very laudable idea.

A native of Davao, Chuong is very proud of the achievement of presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte. “He is well-loved and respected in Davao. He had done many things that improved the lives of people in Davao,” he added.

He is hopeful that Duterte can help bring out the change that we Filipinos are hoping for.

We also want to wish Jay Daniel Chuong good luck as her tries his luck in competing in an international contest.
