Selby seeks Stateside mark in title defense

LOS ANGELES: Welshman Lee Selby will be out to impress US fight fans when he puts his International Boxing Federation featherweight world title on the line in Arizona on Wednesday. “I want to fight the top guys and I think if I get a big win and look good here, I’ll be in the mix,” Selby said as he looked ahead to his fight with former three-division champion Fernando Montiel of Mexico. Selby won the IBF featherweight belt in May, dethroning Evgeny Gradovich by technical decision after the bout was stopped in the eighth round because of a cut from a head butt over the Russian’s right eye.
