BATANGAS: A 67-year-old political adviser of Senator Ralph Recto was found dead inside his house in Lipa City Thursday morning.
Francisco “Pancho” Lardizabal, a former tourism officer of Lipa City and Batangas Province was found dead inside his comfort room in Purok 2 Barangay San Sebastian around 8 a.m., Supt. Jacinto Malinao, Lipa police chief said.
According to reports, the Lipa police station received a phone call from Lardizabal’s househelp Teresita Maandal, informing them about her discovery.
Maandal said she went to Lardizabal’s house to clean but no one was answering despite her repeated knocking on the house door.
She then sought help from one of the victim’s boarder Engelberto Lizardo to forcibly open the door.
“Nagpatulong na ‘yung maid sa isa sa mga boarder na pwersahin na buksan ang pinto nang masilip nila na nakabukas pa ang telebisyon ni Mr. Lardizabal pero hindi naman ito sumasagot,” police said.
Police said the two were surprised when they saw Lardizabal’s body sprawled dead inside the comfort room.
However, police investigators were discounting any foul play on the incident as no signs of struggle were found inside the victim’s house.
Dr. Antonio Vertido from the NBI who conducted the autopsy likewise confirmed that Lardizabal died from a heart attack since there were no signs of wounds from the victim’s body.
