The first week of Senate budget hearings have been postponed on Monday following flooding in most part of Pasay City where its main office is located.
Senate President Franklin Drilon earlier announced in his official Twitter account that “work today [Monday] is suspended due to bad weather”.
“I hope everyone will stay indoors and be safe,” Drilon said.
As per Office of Sen. Escudero @SayChiz, Drilon said all budget-hearing schedules of the Senate Finance Committee are cancelled.
Due to heavy monsoon rains, Malacañang has also ordered the suspension Monday of work in the government offices in Metro Manila except those involved in disaster management.
Meanwhile, Drilon has asked for a speedy investigation into the alleged misuse of the priority development assistance fund of some lawmakers. PNA
