Senators reject Train 2

NO senator was willing to sponsor the second package of the comprehensive tax reform program of the Duterte administration because of its negative impact on ordinary people, Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri said on Wednesday.

While the second part of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (Train 2) program seeks to lower corporate income taxes, it also calls for the removal of the incentives given to several industries including business processes outsourcing and export manufacturers, Zubiri said.
