Senior High School revolutionized at SDCA


In line with the 2015 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) integration, St. Dominic College of Asia opened its doors for Senior High School in 2016 and offered the following four Senior High School strands: Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) Strand; Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMMS) ; Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) ; and Technical Vocational Livelihood Track (TVL).

Within a year of SHS operation, SDCA-SHS already achieved the following:

• SDCA-SHS Vanguard won photojournalism (Jeddahlynn Ruedas), editorial writing (Sophia Lorraine Paglinawan), radio broadcasting (Hannah Alodia Aglibot and Angelo Lenard Tongco) and TV Broadcasting team and Scriptwriting in the Division press conference competition. The student publication also became a regional qualifier for the RSPC 2016.

• SDCA-SHS Vanguard won the regional press conference for TV Broadcasting and Scriptwriting (Mia Janelle Del Rosario and Liam Gabriel Meneses).

• SDCA-SHS varsity players won 1st place in the 8th ISAA basketball league.

• SDCA-SHS won the poetry writing contest in the Writers Bloc with the “Bahaghari ang kulay ng pag-ibig” piece (Mary Ann Paula Asido).

• Conducted its first 15-minute Film Festival (QuinCine Film Festival)

• Conducted a theatrical play “Inlababo.”

SDCA-SHS is headed by Principal Valerie Insigne; Head Teacher Jennifer Torres; Head Teacher Anne Timado; Student Activity Coordinator Karen Cervantes and Student Wellness Staff and Psychometrician Mich Berdos.
