• Seno, Manduriao win PSC-Philta tilt

    CEBUANO Jan Godfrey Seno and Erika Manduriao of Manila dominated the first leg of Philippine Sports Commission (PSC)-Philippine Tennis Association (PHILTA) Junior Tennis Championship on Saturday after winning their finals matches at Laray Consolacion, Cebu.

    Seno topped the 18 and 16-under boys divisions while Manduriao ruled the 16-under girls class of the tournament organized by PHILTA.

    Seno defeated Clyde Bienes of Cebu in the boys’ 18-under, 6-2, 6-1, and Manuel Balce 3rd in the boys’ 16-under class, 6-3, 7-5.

    Manduriao routed Jana Pages of Cebu, 6-1, 6-1, to win the girls’ 16-under class.

    In other matches, John Velez of Davao won over Eric Louise Longakit of Cebu, 6-0, 6-2, in the 10-under unisex class while Jace Christian Unto of Cebu beat Cesar Kristoffer Salimbangon also of Cebu 6-0, 6-0, to take home the 12-under boys’ title.

    In the 12-under girls’ finals, Mariel Ann Villa of Cebu whipped Ellaine Rose Bahonsua of Cebu, 6-1,6-1, to bring home the crown while Clyde John Laquio of Cebu rallied past Francis Gener Lambayan of Cebu, 2-6, 6-3,6-3, to bag the boys’ 14-under title.

    In the 14 under girls’ championship, Zethley Mae Alferez of Cebu trounced Kristin Renee Salimbangon of Cebu, 6-0, 6-4, to take the crown.
