• Sept inflation dips to new low of 0.4%

Philippine headline inflation eased further to an all-time low of 0.4 percent in September from 0.6 percent in August, as housing, utilities, gas and transport rates continued to drop, government data showed on Tuesday.

The year-earlier inflation rate was 4.4 percent.

This September, the rise in consumer prices came within the projected range of 0.2 percent to 1 percent by the central bank, and hit the exact rate at the low end of a forecast range by private analysts polled by the Manila Times. The high end of the range was 0.8 percent.
