An employee of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) who was killed recently in Bacoor City, Cavite province is just one of the victims of a syndicate of serial killers who victimize clients of pimps operating in Metro Manila and the nearby provinces. “The motive is plain robbery, but what is surprising is that they also murder their victims,” NBI agent Juhary Guru told The Manila Times. Guru was referring to case of Arnel Cariaga, 49, a NBI employee assigned at the Clearance Division, who was found hog-tied and dead in a grassy lot in Bacoor City last June 27. Cariaga, a known homosexual at the bureau, was allegedly robbed of his Asus smartphone and P20,000 cash. He was eventually murdered by four people, two of them callboys. Callboy is a Filipino slang for male sex worker.
