Diliman Preparatory School’s Albert Sermonia 2nd and Aklan Learning Center’s Joanna Amor Cervas spearheaded the list of Most Outstanding Swimmer (MOS) awardees in the 92nd Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series Bicol Swim Meet held at the Mariners Polytechnic University Foundation Swimming Pool in Rawis, Legazpi City.

Sermonia, a Singapore International Swimming Championship medalist, collected 47 points to claim the top honors in the boys’ 11-year category while Cervas, who represented the country in 2015 Japan Invitational Swimming Meet, earned 50 points to win the girls’ 10-year MOS trophy.

Trump Christian Luistro of Legazpi Hope Christian School (boys’ 7-year), James Peter Hernandez of Albay Falcons Swim Club (boys’ 15-over) and Estelle Margaret Mendez of Makati Dolphin Swim Team (girls’ 7-year) also secured their respective MOS plums.

“We are happy with the turnout of this competition here in Bicol as we saw a lot of determined swimmers who want to make it to the higher level. They’re eager to prove themselves because they want to represent our country in international competitions in the future,” said PSL President Susan Papa.

“And we’re here to make it happen.

We are opening the doors to them to make it easy to cross the bridge. These young kids have already learned the importance of representing our country and making our country proud,” added Papa.

The other MOS winners in the girls’ division were Alea Faye Tence (8) and Zyrilyn Monica Anonuevo (12) of Albay Falcons, and Iris Arnaldo (9), Isis Arnaldo (11), Gian Nicole Nunez (13), Hannah Imelda Santorio (14) and Rachel Abareta (15-over) of Ibalong Magayon Aquagliders.

Joshua Ezekiel Jordan of San Pedro Swim Club (6-under), Carl Jude Rence of Albay Falcons (12), and Arran Arnaldo (8), Michael Otamias (9), Laurence Nunez (10), Bryan Louis Baron (13) and Bon Luis Baron (14) of Ibalong Magayon Aquagliders completed the boys MOS awardees.

Ibalong Magayon Aquagliders pocketed the overall team title after garnering 805 points while Albay Falcons settled for second with 424 points and Diliman Preparatory School wound up third with 134 points.

“We would like to thank Atty. Tet Mahiwo for sponsoring our accomodation and Ibalong Magayon President Arlon Rances for hosting the 92nd PSL National Series. We’re looking forward to come here again in the future,” ended Papa.
