Seven events are slated to kick- ff this year’s Luzon qualifying leg of the 2015 Philippine National Games (PNG) at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex (RMSC) today.
Hosted by the Philippine Sports Commission together with the Philippine Olympic Committee, the annual national multi-sports tilt is aimed to be a breeding ground for future national athletes.
Archery, boxing, baseball, chess, lawn tennis, sepak takraw and volleyball will mark the start of the annual sports tournament. A total of 23 sports will be played in the games that will be held at the RMSC and in different venues in Metro Manila. Baseball, volleyball, boxing and lawn tennis will be staged at the national sports complex.
The archery competition will be staged at the Sevilla Archery Range in Novaliches, Quezon City while the chess competition will be at the Makati Coliseum.
The sepak takraw games are set to be held at the Marikina Sports Complex.
The official opening ceremony of the PNG starts at 5:00 pm at the RMSC Badminton Hall.
