BULACAN: The body of the seventh student from Bulacan State University who drowned at the Madlum River in San Miguel town Tuesday was recovered on Thursday morning.
Rescuers said a young local boy found the body of Maico Eleva Bartolome beneath a huge log and rocks near the river in Barangay Sibul.
Bartolome was the last among the seven freshmen tourism students who were swept away by raging waters triggered by a sudden downpour during a field trip at the Biak-na-Bato national park on Monday afternoon.
The 25-year-old Bartolome left her stint as a dancer in the noontime TV show Eat Bulaga to continue her studies.
The other fatalities were Mikhail Alcantara, Phil Rod-ney Alejo, Michelle Ann Rose Bonzo and Helena Marcelo— who were recovered on Tuesday—and Jenette Rivera and Madel Navarro—who were found on Wednesday.
Daniel Cunanan and Thea Hernandez survived the accident.
Meanwhile, the municipal government of San Miguel has temporarily closed the Biak-na-Bato national park for local and foreign tourists due to the incident.
