Host Adamson University is expected to rely on the prowess of 6’10 Cameroonian Ingrid Sewa and Jericho Cruz when the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men’s basketball Season 76 unfurls on June 29, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Sewa, who just completed the two-year residency requirement for foreign players will take over the role of top scorer Alex Nuyles who played his final year for Adamson in 2012.
“Our team is so excited because of Sewa’s availability. We have a dominant big guy who can help us play inside,” said Adamson coach Leo Austria, who is also the coach of the San Miguel Beermen in their battle against the Indonesia Warriors in the ongoing Asian Basketball League finals.
Cruz, for his part, is expected to provide additional firepower for the Falcons who finished with a 3-11 win-loss record last season. Cruz, who average 20 points per game, is a known shooter and slasher type of player.
Besides Sewa and Cruz, the Falcons will field 6’5 John Rodney Brondial, playmaker Ryan Monteclaro, guard Lloyd Abrigo, 6’4 power forward Roider Cabrera, 6’2 Mike Agustin, Jansen Rios, Eric Matthew Cabigcas and senior forward Harry Petilos.
