THE long arm of the law finally caught up with 60-year-old Alejandro Aliviado who is long wanted for the rape and murder of a 30-year-old woman in San Fernando town in Cebu 20 years ago. PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) head, Chief Supt. Victor Deona said Aliviado, who carries a P75, 000 bounty for his arrest was nabbed by operatives on Sunday afternoon in Brgy. Pagsabugan, Mandaue City. Aliviado is tagged as the 2nd Most Wanted person in Cebu. Aliviado went into hiding for 20 years in different places in Manila, Laguna, Olango Island and Balamban using different names and aliases. He is facing charges of rape with murder of a woman he threatened and sexually abused in December 1995. Meanwhile, CIDG operatives also arrested over the weekend two more wanted persons facing robbery cases in Bacolod City. CIDG Region 6 chief, Senior Supt. Peter Naboye identified Ricky Espanola and Arnel Pagador, who were collared in their respective hideouts in Brgy. Mandurao, Bayawan City and in Brgy. Tapi, Kabankalan all in Negros Oriental.
