BACOOR CITY: A total of 70 families were left homeless when their shanties were destroyed on Wednesday in Zapote 3 in this city. Bacoor Police Chief Supt. Rommel Estolano said the demolition was based on a Metroplitan Trial Court order which the sheriff served to the leaders of the informal settlers, who were advised five months ago to leave the land they are occupying for the last 20 years. Estolano said 80 unarmed policemen wearing helmets were dispatched to secure the area and prevent violence between the police, workers and the informal settlers. Mayor Strike Revilla said the families will be relocated.
