Shell, SM Advantage now partners in points program

shell-sm.20130910jpgPILIPINAS Shell has teamed up with Marketing Convergence, the company behind SM Advantage, to provide the latest reward system for motorists.

The two business conglomerates last week launched the newest loyalty program where motorists who fuel up at the almost 1,000 Shell service stations around the Philippines can earn rewards points with their SM Advantage Card, SM Prestige and BDO Rewards cards.

Pilipinas Shell Vice President Oying Yam said that the move is meant to provide incentives to customers through the partnership with SM Advantage.

“At Shell, we always find unique ways to give our customers excellent experience every time they visit the station. We want to reward the loyalty and support of our customers and we believe that partnering with the largest loyalty program, SM Advantage, to gain points for our customers’ shopping needs is a perfect way to do this,” Yam said.

Under the new program, points are given to customers’ SM Advantage Card every time they gas up at Shell retail stations. They can also earn points through purchases made at Shell Select, or by having their vehicles serviced at Shell Helix Service Centers or Shell Helix Oil Change+.


The points earned at Shell stations could be used for purchases made at SM Retail Stores.

Shell also enables travel enthusiasts to enjoy discounts at partner hotels in the country through the partnership.

Marketing Convergence Inc. Senior Assistant Vice President for Marketing Rey Maclang said that the company is pleased to work with Shell on the project.

“This gives members [SM Advantage cardholders] more ways to earn more points, which they can use to shop at SM,” Maclang said. RUBEN D. MANAHAN 4TH
