THE first Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup Championship has recently started with a test staged at MotorLand Aragón in Spain, according to Shell, which added that the event had allowed the 22 selected young Asian riders to mount for the first time the official bikes for the series.
The motorcycles are Honda NSF250R Moto3 that are powered by Shell V-Power fuel and lubricated with Shell Advance 4T Ultra oil.
Shell said the four-day training camp gave all riders the chance to understand the bike they will race, as well as get used to competing in what will act as a feeder series to top-tier motorcycle racing.
Shell said the 22 young riders will race in Indonesia (Sentul), China (Zhuhai), Japan (Motegi) and Malaysia (Sepang) during MotoGP race weekends or in independent events.
“We are very proud to be part of this project and also be in a position to give young talents from the Asian region a path into competitive racing,” said Shell Lubricants General Manager for Marketing Consumer Brands and Product Andrew Hepher.
